During the COVID-19 crisis UPCAP and U.P. 2-1-1 are available and ready to help.
2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects people with important community services.
Every hour of every day, someone in the United States needs essential
services – from obtaining assistance for child care or an aging parent. Faced
with the growing number of agencies and help-lines, people in need of help
often don’t where to turn. In many cases, they are unable to find help because they do not know where to start or whom to contact. The U.P. 2-1-1 Call Center opens the door by providing easy access to needed information and assistance.
During this extremely difficult time for many Upper
Peninsula residents, 2-1-1 is providing critical information about COVID-19
resources. Many individuals are facing hard times and have never had to reach out for help. 2-1-1 is providing information on COVID-19 related benefits such as: unemployment benefits, stimulus payment information, electric/gas shut-off notices and food related questions.
211 is available 24/7 by Dialing 2-1-1 or 800-338-1119. 211
is also available by texting 898211, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
